Carl Thomas Scheduled to Release A New Album This Year
Carl Thomas is plotting his comeback. According to Singersroom.com, the R&B crooner will release his 4th album this year. We don’t know about you but we missed albums 2 and 3, but we look forward to seeing if the singer can come close to matching the vibe we loved back during his “Emotional” and “Summer Rain” days.
Here are more details about his comeback from Singersroom.com:
There is a special treat for R&B lovers coming real soon. Veteran crooner Carl Thomas has inked a new record deal with Verve Music Group to release his fourth album, which is currently untitled.
Joining acts like John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock and Avant on Verve, Thomas will begin to release new music starting in March. A rep for Thomas tells Singersroom that the new effort will be reminiscent to his breakout BadBoy Records debut ‘Emotional,’ which is certified platinum. The disc will also boast production from Mario Winans, Mike City, Rico Love and Bryan Michael Cox.
In preparation for his forthcoming release, Thomas will drop a “sorry I was gone so long” mix-tape, tentatively titled Carl Thomas “Featured Hit Man” hosted by Kid Capri, which will be available for free download. The tape will be a collection of hooks/features Thomas recorded in the past such as; “Chicken Heads,” by Lil’ Cease, “The World Is Filled” by Biggie featuring Too $hort and the Grammy
nominated “Can’t Believe” featuring Faith Evans.
In related news, Carl Thomas is one of the featured acts for the upcoming Valentine’s Day Extravaganza at Madison Square Garden Thursday, February 10, 2011.
