Chris Brown’s Mom Apologizes For Her Michael Jackson Tweet

Chris Brown’s mom, Joyce Hawkins, has been receiving lots of hate mail (and Tweets) after she sent out a Twitter on Michael Jackson’s birthday recently that read: “Michael Jackson died so that Chris Brown could live.”

Shortly after posting that Tweet, she removed it after irate fans lashed out at her for it. Now Hawkins has issued a statement to USA Today to explain why she posted it, saying that people misunderstood her comment:

“I’m so sorry that the tweet I sent yesterday was misunderstood,” Ms. Hawkins wrote. “What I meant to say is that Chris has always been inspired by Michael Jackson’s music and his career.”

She also said that she believes that Chris Brown will carry on Michael Jackson’s legacy…. Hmmmm…..
