Gucci Mane Sentenced To A Year Behind Bars
According to Baller Status:
Rapper Gucci Mane was sentenced to 12 months in jail on Thursday (Nov. 12) for probation violation, according to his lawyer.
Mane pled guilty to assault in 2005 for attacking a nightclub promoter. Last September, he was sentenced to a year in jail for failing to fulfill his court-ordered 600 hours of community service. He was incarcerated until March.
After his release, Mane recorded five new songs. The Atlanta rapper has an album coming out December 8th, entitled “The State vs. Radric Davis,” on Asylum/Warner Brothers.
The album has already featured two hit singles: the current “Spotlight” featuring Usher, and “Wasted” featuring Plies.
“The State” finds Mane exploring his previous brush with the law through his rhymes.
Mane has also appeared on tracks for the Black Eyed Peas, Mario, Omarion, Mariah Carey and 50 Cent.
