Jacob The Jeweler Is Suing Wyclef
First Wyclef is accused of mismanaging funds for his organization, Yele Haiti. Then came word that he owes millions in back taxes. Now Jacob the Jeweler says the musician owes him nearly $320,000 for unpaid bills and he is going to court to get the money Wyclef owes him.
According to Hip Hop Wired:
In what appears to be another case of mismanaged funds, rapper Wyclef Jean is being sued by diamond setter to the stars, Jacob the Jeweler for unpaid bills totaling nearly $320,000.
According to the firm’s complaint, Jean who recently announced he is running for the presidency of Haiti, ignored “repeated demands for payment” for the merchandise, which he bought between 2002-2006.
According to reps for Jacob & Company, in over four years Jean bought $765,100 worth of jewelry, paying for a little more than half.
New York State Supreme Court records do not indicate that the case, which was brought to courts in 2008, against Jean has been settled or dismissed.
Jacob & Company invoices detail Jean’s jewelry purchases, which included:
Choppard Watch ($225,000)
Ladies Choppard Watch With Diamonds ($45,000)
18KT Yachtmaster Rolex ($25,000)
Diamond Chain 57.00 CT Round Brilliants ($90,000)
