Jesse Jackson Calls Cavs Owner A “Slave Master” Who Sees LeBron As A “Runaway Slave”
Jesse Jackson is coming to LeBron James defense just days after Cavs Owner, Dan Gilbert, released a scathing open letter to Cavs fans slamming LeBron for leaving for Miami. In the letter, Gilbert refers to James as a selfish narcissist for deserting the Cleveland Cavaliers. In a statement, Jesse Jackson is comparing the NBA owner to a slave master.
According to TMZ:
“He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave.”
He goes on, “LeBron is not a child, nor is he bound to play on Gilbert’s plantation and be demeaned. He has been a model citizen and has inspired the children of Akron, Cleveland, the State of Ohio and the United States.”
