Kanye West Hoped Album Cover Art Would Be Banned
According to George Condo, who designed the banned cover art for Kanye West’s last album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the rapper wanted a controversial cover.
In an interview Condo gave to the New Yorker he said that while working with Kanye to come up with a vision for the cover art that Kanye told him that he wanted “something that will be banned.” The artist said that after listening to the album he skillfully painted 8 or 9 different possibilities and Kanye settled on the controversial painting that ultimately graced the cover (and was banned.)
