After canceling her first date of her winter tour on Monday, Lauryn Hill continued to agitate her fans by showing up late to a concert date on Tuesday in Brooklyn. The singer was scheduled to appear at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg at 8pm but did not appear on stage until after 12am. Yes, 12am.

Some fans left while others stayed and waited but were very upset. This is what Lauryn said in her own defense: “you know, people, we do the best we can with what we have.  all those who are unhappy, you know you are always free to go back and ask for a refund and for those of you who stay you get what you get. you got me?  i make no shorts about it. I apologize for being late but there’s a lot that goes on to get this out to you… it’s not easy and I don’t apologize for that… you understand that, Brooklyn?”

That message was met with a mix of cheers and booing… She proceeded to tell the crowd: “I personally know I’m worth the wait.”

It should come as no surprise then that one upset fan held up a sign that read: “You Just Lost One.” LOL.

Here’s the NY Times video:

Here are a few of her performances from that evening:
