alicialilmamajayz Lil Mama randomly joined Jay-Z and Alicia Keys on stage during their performance Sunday night during the VMA’s prompting many to wonder what compelled her to go up there uninvited. (See video of the performance below)

This is what she told MTV afterwards:

“I did not mean any disrespect towards Jay-Z or Alicia Keys. I admire them and look up to them as role models. ‘Empire State of Mind’ had my emotions running high. In that moment I came up onstage to celebrate my two icons singing about NY.”
