Mariah Evading Whitney Houston?

Rumors are circulating that Mariah Carey has pushed back her album so as not to have to compete with Whitney Houston’s much anticipated comeback album. If true, this is not out of the ordinary. Labels do sometimes consider release dates of other artists when scheduling releases of their artists.
According to the NY Daily News:
…fans hoping for a Battle of the Divas will be disappointed to learn that Whitney Houston’s new CD will be released nearly a month earlier than Mariah’s; the icon’s first album in seven years is now set to hit shelves on Sept. 1.
