Late last year, Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man was arrested on felony tax evasion charges.

Just this week, on Monday (June 28), the rapper (real name: Clifford Smith) owed up to the charges, entering a guilty plea in Staten Island Criminal Court to a misdemeanor charge of attempted failure to pay taxes.

Meth also paid the last $40,000 of his $106,000 unpaid taxes and is reportedly up to date on his taxes.

In October 2009, Meth was arrested for unpaid taxes over several years — the highest being over $32,000 in personal and state income tax in one year from between 2004 and 2007.

While some speculated that the rapper was going through financial troubles, Meth told the New York Daily News in March 2009 that he simply forgot to pay up because he gets high too much.

“Myself, I’m a pothead,” he said in March. “It’s no secret. Everyone knows that. I go on the road and forget everything else. Sure, [the tax department] sent letters to my house saying, ‘We need this money.’ They started sending them in 2002. … Here it is, 2009, and I never paid this sh** because I don’t think like that!”
