Naomi Campbell Explains Anger Issues On Oprah

Super model Naomi Campbell — who seemingly has to her credit as many magazine covers as headlines for her bad behavior — sat down with Oprah today for an hour-long mea culpa.

Hat tip to Oprah.com for the quote:

Naomi says her issues go beyond anger management, and she’s not some petulant diva. “I think it comes from a deeper place than that with me. It comes from another type of emotional disorder, because it’s not just, ‘I don’t get what I want. I throw,’” she says. “It comes from, I think, an abandonment issue, and it comes from also just trying to build up a family around me that’s not my immediate family. And if I feel a mistrust, then I really just…all my cards go down.”

She also explained why she refuses to cooperate in a case, involving the prosecution of a former African dictator. More from ABC News:

Prosecutors allege that Charles Taylor, former president of Liberia, gave Campbell a blood diamond, the kind of gem Taylor is accused of using to buy guns for rebel groups in neighboring Sierra Leone who terrorized civilians and killed and maimed tens of thousands.

“I don’t want to be involved in this man’s case—he has done some terrible things and I don’t want to put my family in danger,” Campbell told Oprah and her millions of viewers.
