NBC Cancels ‘Law & Order’
It’s truly an end of an era…. Looks like NBC has cancelled their “Law & Order” series.
Here’s more from The Gossip Cop:
“Law & Order” has been canceled, NBC confirms.
In a twist worthy of the crime procedural, the network will not bring the drama back for a record-breaking 21st season.
The final episode will air May 24.
The cancellation means the series finishes tied with “Gunsmoke” for the longest-running series in history.
“The full measure of the collective contributions made by Dick Wolf and his ‘Law & Order’ franchise over the last two decades to the success of NBC and Universal Media Studios cannot be overstated,” said Jeff Gaspin, NBC Universal Television Entertainment chairman. “The legacy of his original ‘Law & Order’ series will continue to make an impact like no other series before.”
NBC also announced it renewed the spin-off “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and ordered a new series, “Law & Order: Los Angeles.”
