Oprah Gives Rosie O’Donnell A Daily Talk Show On Her New Network
According to E! Online:
The Emmy-winning talk show host is returning to daytime TV with a daily show on Oprah Winfrey’s eponymous cable network, OWN, starting sometime next year.
“Rosie is an undeniable talent who has captivated TV audiences for nearly 20 years,” Winfrey said in a statement Thursday. “She’s a true original, who brings her authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does.”
And O’Donnell probably feels pretty good about hooking up with the unmitigated queen of daytime talk.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to work with Oprah Winfrey on her network,” says O’Donnell. “I’m excited to be back on daytime television.”
Since leaving The View in a blaze of animosity in 2007, O’Donnell has launched Rosie Radio on Sirius XM; guest-starred on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nip/Tuck and Drop Dead Diva; and produced the HBO special A Family Is a Family is A Family: A Rosie O’Donnell Celebration.
OWN, which Winfrey says she’ll be focusing on when she leaves her celebrated chatfest on Sept. 9, 2011, is expected to launch in January.
