Outrage Of The Day: NY Paper Depicts Obamas As ‘Sanford And Son’????
This looks like another publication gone mad. The Smithtown Messenger in Long Island, NY is under fire for their depiction of President Obama and his wife, Michelle.
The paper recently featured a montage of “before and after” pictures of Presidents and their First Ladies over time. They show real pictures of former President George and First Lady Laura Bush, the Clintons, and other couples throughout the years (pre and post presidency) together and looking happy.
But, things take a left turn in their depiction of the Obamas. Their “after” picture is a picture from the popular TV show, Sanford and Son, of the main character Fred Sanford fighting with his dead wife’s sister.
In their own defense, the paper has responded by saying that it’s political satire not racism. Take a look at the pics below and then tell us what you think by taking our poll and leaving a comment.
