The Queen Partners With BET
Queen Latifah and her production company are ramping up for two new big TV projects for BET.
One of them will bring “The Cookout” to the network as a made for TV sequel.
According to S2S.com:
Remember that BET sitcom we told you about last week, “Let’s Stay Together”? Well WoooHa.com reports that the show will be made through the Queen’s company.
The show, airing in 2011, stars Malinda Williams and Bert Belasco as an upwardly mobile engaged couple figuring out how to mesh their careers with the traditional roles of marriage.
Flavor Unit is also developing a made-for-TV sequel to The Cookout. There’s no word on when that will make it to air.
Latifah will not be part of the cast for either project, but she will act as executive producer.
