R.I.P. R&B Songstress and “Ivory Queen Of Soul” Teena Marie Dead at Age 54

We here at HListed were saddened to learn this evening that R&B singer Teena Marie died unexpectedly today at the age of 54. The songstress reportedly died in her sleep today. According to reports, her daughter, Alia Rose, found her unresponsive and called the authorities.

Teena Marie had been ill of late. Her publicist, Lynn Jeter, confirmed earlier today that Marie had suffered from seizures in recent months that required medication. Early reports from the Pasadena coroner say that Marie died from natural causes.
