Shaq Creates Spectacle in Boston at Harvard Square
Boston Celtics star Shaquille O’neal made a special appearance in Harvard Square yesterday. He tweeted that he would appear there as a statue and that’s just what he did. Yes, we said statue.
He showed up in Harvard Square and was quickly surrounded by legions of fans looking to take their picture with him. He simply sat down on a bench in the square and kept still (like a statue) and allowed fans to surround him and take pictures. He didn’t speak to anyone but he did crack a smile from time to time. After about an hour he got up and left.
His Celtics teammate Paul Pierce found his stunt funny but seemed just as confused as we were about this:
“What’s he going to do? He’s just going to sit there? Somebody get a picture of that and tweet it.”
