Things are looking up for Sherri Shepherd. Our favorite daytime funny woman is working on a sitcom for Lifetime, and today she revealed the results of her three-month-long weight-loss regimen.

She addressed her fans on Twitter, saying: “And thanks everyone for all the encouragement and support throughout this getting healthy journey. You don’t know how much I appreciate YOU”

Sherri Shepherd took center stage on “The View” to show the world that diet and exercise really do work.

Thursday, the co-host of the popular ABC talk show donned a black bathing suit and hit the cat walk in front of the audience to show that she lost five inches from her waist and 10 inches total from her body.

Three months is all it took to give Shepherd the confidence to appear on national television in the bathing suit and five inch heels with the song “I’m Every Woman” playing.

“I feel really great. I just wanted to show people that you don’t have to do anything crazy. You just have to make some choices and exercise and the weight will drop off. I hope some folks were inspired,” Shepherd said.

The comedian/actress took over for Star Jones as a permanent host of “The View” in 2007. Since then, she has hosted the Daytime Emmy Awards and twice herself been nominated for Outstanding Talk Show Host.

Thanks to her weight loss Shepherd, who is a diabetic, has been able to wain off her medication because she’s much more healthy. However, producers messed with her by showing a montage of “slip-ups,” meaning, her eating unhealthy food.

And what was Shepherd’s reward for looking great, feeling great and becoming more healthy? A platter of ribs, corn bread, collard greens, M&Ms and more food that are not part of her diet.
