T.I. Sentenced to 11 Months in Jail
It’s official. Rapper T.I. is headed back to jail. The rapper was sentenced to serve 11 months in jail on Friday by a federal judge following a probation violation after he was pulled over in his Maybach in LA with his wife, Tiny. Police smelled marijuana in the car and a search of the car uncovered drugs. T.I. was charged with drug possession.
In court on Friday, T.I. admitted that he made a mistake and asked the federal judge to go easy on him. He also said he was interested in receiving treatment and therapy to help wean him off of drugs. “I want drugs out of my life. If I can get the treatment and counseling I need … I can beat this,” T.I. reportedly told the judge. “I need help. For me, my mother, my kids, I need the court to give me mercy.”
He also apologized for messing up: “I screwed up big time, and I’m sorry. I’m truly and sincerely sorry. I don’t want and I don’t need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life.”
No word yet on what his wife Tiny’s punishment may be.
