TV Alert: BET To Air Special On Health Care

*The Newseum in Washington D.C. was the setting for BET’s upcoming special “Critical Condition: What’s At Stake in Health Care Reform,” an attempt to separate fact from fiction regarding an issue that has deeply divided the nation.
Taped before a live audience, the special airs Sunday (Sept. 27) at 10 p.m. with host Jeff Johnson and guest correspondent April Woodard speaking with guests Melody Barnes, the President’s Domestic Policy Adviser & Director of the Domestic Policy Council; James E. Clyburn (D – SC); Maxine Waters (D – CA); Brian D. Smedly, Ph.D.; Dr. Majorie Innocent, Ph.D; Pamela Gentry, BET’s Senior Political Analyst; Bob Parks, National Center for Public Policy Research; and Dr. Sampson Davis.

Through the use of personal accounts, video packages, expert panelists, and open dialogue between the studio and online audience, the special will lay out all the pressing issues surrounding health care reform.

BET.com and Twitter interactive platforms will be used to engage viewer feedback on the important healthcare issues addressed.
