(Video) Antoine Dodson Performs “Bed Intruder” at BET Hip Hop Awards
Antoine Dodson performed his song “Bed Intruder” last night on the BET Hip Hop Awards. The YouTube sensation’s rose to fame after his dramatic interview with an Alabama news crew over the summer was turned into a song. That song has garnered more than 31 million YouTube views and sold more than 100,000 downloads on iTunes, where it’s reached No. 3 on the R&B chart. It also made it to the 89th slot on the Billboard Hot 100.
Though he sang off key and for only about a minute or so, the crowd seemed to enjoy his performance. Several stars were shown singing along to his performance.
As for Dodson, he told the Root.com that performing at the awards show wasn’t his idea:
“I am not desperate at all. I don’t call people and say, ‘Hey, I want to be on your show.’ They reached out to me and said, ‘You are the hot topic right now, so we want you to be on the show.’”
