Aretha Franklin granted an interview with CBS’ ‘Sunday Morning.’ The Queen of Soul opened up about her childhood, her singing career, and her recent health challenges.
She traveled back to her childhood church in Detroit with the CBS crew to share with them where her singing career started:
“My dad had to push me to sing, though. I really didn’t want to sing…”
She also shared that she had a big crush on Sam Cooke:
“Yes, I had a serious crush on him. He had no idea though, that I had that kind of crush on him. My sister liked him. So I said, ‘She likes him, so I just won’t tell him.’”
