(Video) Chris Brown Apologizes for GMA Outburst
Chris Brown appeared on BET’s 106 & Park to promote his new album, F.A.M.E. During his appearance, he apologized for the first time for having destroyed a dressing room at the ABC News GMA studios in Times Square.
He said:
“First of all, I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, anybody who was offended or really disappointed in my actions, because I was disappointed in the way I acted.”
Brown says he was surprised by the line of questioning during the Robin Roberts interview because he says that ABC had provided him with specific talking points that they ultimately did not follow and that threw him off:
“When the interview proceeded, I was thrown off…..I felt like, OK, they told us this to get us on the show and exploit me. I took it very, very hard.”
ABC News has responded to those allegations with the following statement:
“Chris Brown was invited on Good Morning America to perform and to be interviewed. There were no talking points offered.”
Chris Brown also provided this in his own defense:
“I kept my composure throughout the whole interview … And when I got back, I just let off steam in the back. I didn’t physically hurt anyone. I just wanted to release the anger inside me. I felt like I worked so hard for this music … I got very emotional.”
Brown also discouraged his fans from attacking Robin Roberts or sending her hate mail of any kind.
What do you think? Do you think his apology was sincere? Is it enough? What should he have said that he didn’t say?
