(Video) Common Performs During Poetry Night at the White House
Despite facing controversy earlier this week from right wingers who said his music wrongly praises cop killers and criticized former President GW Bush, Common’s appearance last night at the White House went off without a hitch.
The rapper performed a poem for the President and his guests. Our favorite line from his poem: “We went from being Precious to Oprah…”
‘Nuff Said.
This isn’t the first time the rapper has been involved in an event at the White House. Last year he hosted the White House Tree Lighting Ceremony.
