(Video) Halle Berry Talks About Growing up in A Home With Domestic Violence
Halle Berry gave an interview recently to CNN to raise awareness around the issue of domestic violence. Halle Berry shared with the news organization that she grew up in a household where domestic violence was present. The actress said she saw her mother being physically abused and that it impacted Halle’s self esteem:
“I have a spot in my soul that understands the devastation that this causes a family and how hard it is to rebuild your self esteem when you have suffered [from domestic violence].”
Halle Berry volunteers her time and money at the Jenessee Center in Los Angeles that provides shelter and other services for women who have been the victims of domestic violence and their children.
