(Video) Mariah Carey Confirms She’s Pregnant; Says She Miscarried 2 Years Ago

Mariah Carey has finally confirmed she’s pregnant. In an interview with Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush (that appeared on NBC’s ‘The Today Show’) this morning, the singer says that she and her husband, Nick Cannon, are expecting their first child together. While she did not want to give her exact due date, she did say that the baby is due in the Spring and that she’s chosen (at least for now) not to find out the gender.

Carey said it wasn’t easy keeping her pregnancy a secret for as long as she did: “It’s been a long journey, but it’s been tough because I’ve been trying to have…. to hold onto a shred of privacy. And that was not easy.” Her husband, Nick Cannon, joined the interview and shared that part of the reason they were intent on keeping this pregnancy a secret for so long was that the couple miscarried a couple of years ago: “It was really sad so we had to just, we had really to absorb this and take it in.”

Cannon shared how difficult that time was for the couple and how strong Mariah was: “And that’s what I said, like her strength would literally be during the day so festive and smiling obviously for cameras and spending time with everyone and you know, literally that night crying herself to sleep.”
