‘Waiting to Exhale’ Sequel ‘Getting to Happy’ Being Made Into a Movie

Looks like Terry McMillan’s much anticipated sequel to ‘Waiting to Exhale’ called ‘Getting to Happy’ will be made into a movie next year. Twentieth Century Fox has confirmed that they’ve optioned the sequel with McMillan and Lori Lakin Hutcherson writing the script together.

We are also hearing rumors that Whitney Houston has already been approached to reprise her role as Savannah in the sequel. No word on whether Lela Rochon, Angela Bassett, and Loretta Devine have been asked to star in the film.

The ‘Waiting to Exhale’ movie grossed more than $67 million in theaters in 1995.
