Will.I.Am Responds To Blackface Backlash
Will.I.Am appeared onstage with Nicki Minaj last night during her pre-VMA performance. The two performed Nicki’s new song, “Check it Out.” For once, Nicki wasn’t the only one whose appearance grabbed folks’ attention. Will.I.Am appearing on stage in black face was hard to miss…. In fact, people took to Twitter and Facebook in droves questioning his choice in, uhm, face?
We want to know what you think? Was it inappropriate for him to show up in black face?
The musician took to Twitter to respond. Here’s what he said:
“1st. just because I where all black including head mask as expression and emphasize my outfit, it shouldn’t be looked at as racial…Let go of the past. there are far more important things 2 bark about. (Jobs, health, education) not a black man wearing all black everything.”
“Are you guys serious? my outfit set “black people back 100 yrs” choose your twits wisely. no education sets people back, no jobs, bad health,”

Why is this controversial??????? Makes no sense to me. How does one compare an obvious costume to the “blackface” of racial degredation. Wow people. Way more imp things in life to be concerned about. How about you guys use that energy to help find me a j.o.b.
