Fox has reportedly won a bidding war to create a TV series based on Will Smith’s hit movie ‘Hitch.’ The romantic comedy starred Will Smith as a love doctor. Eva Mendes played his leading lady.

After a bidding by multiple networks, Fox has nabbed the rights to a series adaptation of the 2005 hit romantic comedy Hitch from Will Smith and James Lassiter’s Overbrook Entertainment and The Proposal writer Pete Chiarelli. Chiarelli will pen the project, described as an action-packed one-hour, which has received a script commitment plus penalty from the network. Sony Pictures TV and Overbrook are producing.
